The CAMERA Truck

The video of the October 22, 2012 meeting of the Town of Plattsburgh has been added to the Town Page of the CHTA website, under Town Meetings. (click on the blue words to go to the page) At this meeting the Board discussed the necessity of purchasing a new camera truck for the Water and Sewer dept.  This truck has a camera which can go through the sewer lines to find problems. (On the few occasions in the past when the Town needed this type of service they hired it.) Some taxpayers question the expense in this economic climate.  Although the Board never mentions the price, reliable sources tell us that it is in the $140,000 range.  Does the Town really need to purchase this “pricey” equipment during this recession?  Have all avenues been thoroughly examined?  Have all possibilities been entertained?  Listen and decide for yourselves.
